from a festival show last weekend- pardon my caffeine-afflicted fingers! I’m more used to night shows with beer in the back! ![]()

Love the glasses… very surfish
The song reminds me of a certain video filmed at a secret underground military base.
Actually, the main guitar riff is amazingly similar. This one is played down pitch instead of up pitch, yet i know it’s a total coincidence, so I guess it would not qualify as a clone ![]()

haha!- that’s one of the difficulties in making new surf rock- it’s hard not to inadvertently “share” riffs when you’re playing over the same blues scales…
That’s a shoe-in for “Best Use of Voyager OS in Surf Music” 2012.
Kudos for taking your VOS out of the house. I don’t like moving my EB from one side of the room to the other.
I couldn’t help but think : Sand, Sand, Sand Alert! (that would make a nice title for a song) ![]()
Wooooo really cool man ![]()
In front of the ocean… could not help from thinking
1- so gooooood!
2- wow wow wow, get those spindrifts out of my baby!!
yeah, the outdoor shows can get a bit nerve wracking, especially on the beach! weather can shift supernaturally quick on you- we were playing a show last year out on the end of a pier, and a dark mass of clouds came out of nowhere, in the middle of a 3 minute song- by the end of the song, giant rain drops were plopping down- I yanked the power off my LP, took off my shirt, wrapped it up, and ran with it and my guitar to shelter- the staff and some audience grabbed the rest of the stuff- we huddled inside the pierhouse bar and watched the monsoon go on its merry way- 30 minutes later, we were back out there, finishing up the set! we bring tarps along nowadays…
and thanks for the props, Moogpals!
The whole time I was watching this I couldn’t help but think, “Nice song, but the SAND! Oh god, the SAND and SALT spray! That poor Voyager!” ![]()
Pretty good performance! The aftertouch is working very nicely on your OS ! Oh, and another nice touch of that random S&H synth lead!
I’ve commented on it on YouTube using my usual user name there.
Thanks for sharing! ![]()
P.S. You’ll probably be one of the very few owners now, who will able to say that your Old School has been performing live…outdoors! ![]()
thanks alien! I’m usually less stiff- I blame the caffeine ![]()
got a bunch more outdoor sets on the radar- this VOS is getting fast forward vintaged, like those Fender guitars they tack on an extra grand, after rubbing them with steel wool and calling them “relic-ed” ![]()
