I am thinking about purchasing a Little Phatty II as my main keyboard/ hardware synth. I know it can play software instruments through its USB capabilities, but I was wondering if it can play these soft synths in polyphony since the the sounds are not actually coming from the Phatty but are coming from a computer and are only being played on the Phatty as a MIDI keyboard. So basically what I’m asking is, Can soft synths be played in polyphony through the Phatty’s keyboard?? Thanks for your help!
Yes, the LP sends polyphonic midi data. You can also parameter map the knobs to send info to control your softies.
Oh yes. Some knobs on the fatty transmit 14 bit CC as well.. You are going to have a blast playing your softsynths with the LP!
Try all kinds of evil stacks too, like layering a polyphonic VI sound with the monofonic LP tone.. Highly recommended
