Little Phatty regular edition

Hi.

Are there any more news regarding the regular edtion of LP?
I can’t afford to buy one right now, but I really like the look of the tribute edtion, and wouldn’t like to end up with something that looked considerably less elegant (ie. no wood panels or brushed aluminium backside etc..)

Thanks!

AFAIK, Moog hasn’t released any more news on the LP Stage edition.

I’d expect they would complete and ship the backlog of Tribute editions before they begin producing the Stage edition.

Yeah c’mon guys at least give us an artists impression!
I’m waiting to get a look at one of only 2 tribute’s to come to Winnipeg Canada
in the next week or so.
If the build/sound quality is gonna be differant,
spill the beans…

In this case I’ve gotta side with Moog and their business policy on this.

Moog has sold a lot of Little Phatty’s to their dealers, who want a shot at selling all of the LP’s that they have in stock.

Introducing the Standard Edition now (or even leaking out what it will look like) would be counter-productive to their dealers, who would like to unload on their stock of Tributes first. To do otherwise would stick a lot of dealers with the more expensive Tribute Edition, while people bought the cheaper Standard Edition.

If you want a LP in the near future, better buy a Tribute…

I never miss an excuse to post these phantasty stage edition phatties:

horrible.

:open_mouth:

Im sure the Moog design will be much more in good taste!

Goldphinga, you bastard! I hope you get sucked out the window of your gold jet en route to Fort Knox.

I dont know that last green one looks pretty nice to me..

ditto! the green one is sweet.

I don’t know, it kind of reminds me of a tennis court…or maybe a golf course. Sorry Ted!

how about an model covered in cigarette ash & beer stains
with a backplate that reads “Couldn’t afford the first edition”

ted you ********

p.s.

I love the orange one

Rogue Music in NYC has confirmed that they are getting the Standard within the next week and it will cost less than $1000.

I confirmed it with them that it is the standard…not the tribute.

wow, thats pretty odd when you consider that moog has released zero images or press on it, other than the relative price tag. i wonder if all the tributes have been spoken for based on the orders moog has recieved?

even if that was the case though, how would moog be releasing the stage edition already if they can’t even keep up with the demand for tributes?

hmm…

I think that dealer has made a mistake.

A shop wouldnt have them before an official announcement by Moog. Id say 101% that this is a rumour and that there is no substance to it.

It does sound strange. However, all we know is that thew stage version will not have the wooden side panels, right?
But what does it matter… I love my Tribute Edition and it’s looks alone makes it already a classic.

The tributes are limited edition and I believe are already all spoken for…so this makes sense. I think they made a mistake…and released the news early…but not a mistake regarding the fact that the Standard edition is coming very, very soon.

I’m sure that goldphinga is right - the dealer has made a mistake. To confirm it yourself, try contacting the dealer next week and see if they received any Stage Editions from Moog. I’d bet they will tell you that the shipment has been delayed, try us again in a couple of weeks, etc.

Until Moog makes an official announcement, I wouldn’t trust any claims from music dealers regarding the Stage Edition. Either save your money and wait, or shop around and get a Tribute Edition now.

The only mistake they made was announcing it before Moog did… just like Novamusik did with the Akai MPC500 a week or two ago.

Rogue Music is usually pretty reliable…remember when people thought the Solar Edition Voyager wasn’t legit just because Moog didn’t announce it officially on their site..If Rogue is selling these for under 1k it sounds like a great deal for those who waited and didn’t have the extra $400 to spend for wood end cheeks, etc…plus most of the bugs have been worked out of them by now!
