I’ve currently got my LPTE running into my Mackie mixer & through SRM350 PA speakers. Since I’ve moved my Moogerfoogers between my amps away from the LP, I’d like to know if the LP’s output is too hot for a guitar amp.
dunno specifically for a guitar amp but i suspect it’s fine.
I run mine either through my mixer and monitors or through my bass amp, it sounds amazing on the bass amp.
I would probably use discretion when using a guitar amp for bass sounds. You also have to bear in mind that with the Low Pass filter on these Moog puppies, they are extremely adept for cranking out intense sub bass, which might cause some damage to your speakers.
Try it with a compression unit, thats what I use sometimes to keep my 104 in check when it builds to speaker shattering levels during self oscillation.
I used to run everything from Yamaha FM polyphonics to ModCan modulars through a Marshall half stack. There’ll be no problem plugging an LP in; in fact playing around with high versus low inputs will yield some interesting results.
I would observe the usual caveats though and make sure both pre and post volume knobs are set to minimum at first, then raise them to taste (and make sure the amp is turned off when plugging the LP in).
Tks guys. It sounds daring to plug LP into guitar amp.. safer into a bass amp (with a closed back). Does anyone know what Voltage, Current, or Impedances the LP puts out?
I have had good experiences using my Pignose portable amp with my LP. I don’t see why you couldn’t go bigger…just don’t expect the bass response to be all that great. ![]()
0-5 volts at 600 Ohms through Audio Out, as I recall, and 30mA out at the headphone jack. Whatever’s missing, I don’t have. ![]()
I always play and record my LP thru a Fender Steel King amp. It sounds great, and I’ve never had a problem.
I run my micro through a roland jazz chorus, which sounds amazing on leads with some reverb and chorus/vibrato!
use a “Reamp” or a passive DI in reverse…
