So, The past several weeks I have noticed that when I’m playing my LP, then stop for about 10-20 minutes and come back, the first note press hesitates for a split second. After that, it’s golden. But if I let it rest again for a bit, it does the same thing. It’s like the LP goes into a “sleep” mode and it takes a split second to “wake up” when the first note is pressed causing a slight lag. I doubt that’s what it’s doing (unless there is some type of clock idle built into the code) but I thought I’d check here first to see if maybe it’s a known bug or if I have a more serious issue or I’m just goofy in da head.
BTW, I do not have any MIDI plugged into the LP. Just the output and power of course.
It is definitely an artifact of autotune. It has been discussed on here in a couple threads before.
The way autotune works:
It only goes to work if the phatty is not played for a short bit (couple minutes)
When the phatty is autotuning the output is muted and the calibration patch is sounded
The sound is compared to a reference and the tune is adjusted to bring the instrument to proper tune
While the autotune is being performed (you wouldn’t know since it is muted) when the gate is opened the first bit of the sound is missed because the selected preset’s values need to be loaded (since the calibration patch was loaded behind the scenes) and the output unmuted.
Same here, but I noticed it after OS2.0 update (I’m using 3.1 now), I believe that the autotune on 1.3 was different somehow.
Sorry for thread hijack, but sometimes when I play for some time (LP is warmed up and all, in tune, tune menu showing 60.00 for middle C), and then sometimes it jumps to around 60.15, 15 cents sharp, when I hear it I go to tune menu, roll it back to 60.00 and it’s fine. Fron what I recall it happens once per session.
