LFO LED behavior when turning Rate knob

I just noticed this for the first time:

All my LFOs have SYNC mode OFF. I assume that means neither MASTER CLOCK nor anything external should dictate the overall rate.

They are also in SLOW or LOW range mode.

When I slowly rotate the Rate knobs, the blinking LED slows down to a crawl until I stop rotating it. Then it jumps to a blinking speed that seems to reflect the actual modulation speed.

The global setting for knob behavior (absolute, pass-through or relative) doesn’t seem to affect this behavior.

I have lots of other Moog synths but have never seen this before. Of course typically one goes by ear but I find it very irritating and don’t understand what the reason is. Is it a firmware bug? Is it a problem with my particular device?

The Arpeggiator Rate know does not show this behavior (in sync mode OFF) and neither does the Sequencer (sync OFF).

The manual just says this about the LFO LED: “The RATE knob LED will flash at the current setting.”

Yea I’ve noticed something similar, when the LFO is synced to master clock and you turn down the TEMPO the LFO lags on slower settings and hangs there when you’re speeding up the tempo and suddenly snaps back to the faster tempo. Very annoying. A small imperfection in an amazing machine.
