It seems the curse of moog continues.. unbelievable. 10 years ago I bought Prodigy which died the next day. This morning I bought LP stage I from ebay.. it arrived working fine, but when I tried to update it, it wouldn’t switch into bootloader mode. I thought the reason was that it had old firmware v1.xxx so I have tried to update it to version 2.21. The process failed and I have ended up with blank screen no sound scenario. I have done a bit of research and found one guy’s video with the debug adapter.
Guys.. is that the only solution how to fix it?
And if yes, would I be able to load the very last LP hex file or do I need to get an older version?
Many thanks.
I was hoping that my first post in this forum would be on a happier note.
From what i understood from other cases, you should be able to fix your problem with the debug adapter. And you should be able to upgrade your firmware too. Never needed to use it on my LP, so i can’t give you any hands-on advise.
I got advice from a guy who had the same problem many years ago and sorted it out. I
bought the debugger and fixed my lp with the use of old firmware files. So the lp is alive again, but buggy as I don’t have the latest firmware. I contacted Moog, no reply That has never happened to me before and put me off buying another Moog.
Does anyone have the latest files to update the lp? There are 2 files needed, not only the firmware from Moog web. Thanks.
I’m not an expert.. once had this top of mind and fully understood it but there is a diff between version and the boot loader depending on the Phatty you have. Certainly I have the files that you have but along the way from 1.something to 2.something there was likely a change in the executive code that needs to be applied.
For starters, there is a diff in updating 3.x to something else 3.x and from updating from 2.x to 3.x. Have a close look at the install instruction and maybe sift through the very very long and great number of threads on the subject.
