Is there still a place for the Voyager XL?

Hey all

I know that the Voyager XL model is first and foremost a Voyager and as such works brilliantly as a mono-synth. But the whole XL part, if seeing the synth as self-contained, does it have any significant value in terms of sound design? Maybe also compared to more recent offerings from Moog, like Matriarch etc? I love the Voyager sound dearly, and the XL model appeals to me more like a piece of nice furniture would appeal to me, than an actual synthesizer. So just wondering if the patch panel has actual functional value or it only shines together with other equipment.

There is not a lot on YouTube in terms of sound design on this model specifically, so maybe not that many out there. Hoping to get some insight through this board

Regards

Alex

One thing I’ll say about the XL is that as a CV controller for modular synthesizers, it really can’t be beat.

The Voyager XL sounds identical to the standard Voyager(True Bid Data). Its extras patch panel, extra LFO, attenuators, ribbon, and longer keyboard add control and CV flexibility, not new tones. Great for modular use; otherwise, same sound, bigger interface.
