just wondering if anyone could help me on a question i have.
I own a very large thomas organ (one of the big chunky 60’s type ones) and it has a built in moog synthesizer component. Could someone give me an indication if this piece of crap is worth something or should i turf it! contact me at autodust@hotmail.com if u know anything about it.
Dude.. Those things are dope !! You could probably get some good money for it on ebay.. The moog that is built in is the rare minit-moog.. Similar to the “sattelite”..
Check out auctions that have ended on ebay hwere the item you have was sold.. That will tell you its worth.. or you can try www.prepal.com . it might be there !
Thomas Organs built the Satellite into their organs, not the Minitmoog.
I’ve seen one of those organs. The Satellite was introduced by Moog Music in '72 and Thomas Organ signed an unbelievably generous royalty contract with Moog for the rights to build Satellites and install them in their organs. Moog didn’t even build them, not even the standalone models! The Satellite was in production at least until the end of the 70s.
The Minitmoog came along in '76 and they were made for less than a year. They featured an extra VCO, a few extra controls, and aftertouch but the AT self-disintegrated quickly due to chemical reactions. Not many of those around and probably none with working AT. I remember a local tech who had one in his shop, he hated that thing.
