I got a Polymoog (semi working) for 20 Bucks TODAY!

… And then I figured out how to make it work for me!!!

BTW Polymoog SYNTH not the preset Polymoog keyboard!!

The Oscs are dead but everything else works. I started looking at the rear panel (first time I’ve ever seen a poly up close) and noticed all the CV and Audio flexibility.

It has a volt/octave (how appropriate) keyboard CV out and VCF IN and OUT!

SO, i took my freq box ran a cable from OSC OUT to AUDIO IN, to have the audio of the osc trigger itself. Then I ran a cable from the Polymoog’s KB CV out to the Freq In of the Freq Box… The KB triggers the osc perfectly…

THEN I ran the audio out from the freq box to the VCF In of the Polymoog, to process the freq boxes osc through the VCF/Modulation of the polymoog!

Muhahahaha..

So, it a MonoMoog but sounds DOPE!

That’s awesome and hilarious at the same time! :open_mouth:

There’s an audio input for the resonator which doesn’t sound half bad.

Glad you’re having fun. Maybe with luck you can get the osc’s to kind of work again… if not just as a processor it will be fun. Plus you can’t beat the price

I had a friend that had the sytnh ver back in the late 70’s (he sould off a bunch of stuff to get it new) One day I was over the house playing with it and hooked his MuTron pahser up to it…he had never thought of that .

Enjoy

JEEZ!

Can’t beat that.

lucky duck, those stories are becoming increasingly rare these days.

Little old lady kept it under the bed with the original price tag still on it…

Why does this never happen to me?

Don’t you have a private stash of Prophet 5’s?

Here is a video of my 20 dollar polymoog controlling and processing the freq box …

I can tell you’re not having any fun at all with that set-up   .

Sounds good and I’m sure you’ll find several ways to use it on a track.
