Hum when Rogue under CV Voyager conrol

Does anybody have any insight that could help me?

I have the pitch control out of my VX 351 going in to the keyboard control of my Moog Rogue. When it’s plugged in, a very high frequency is emitted, much like a dog whistle. All instruments play fine, but this frequency is constant. Is this inevitable with this setup, or is there something I can do to fix this?

Thanks
Chris

The Rogue has to have a stereo 1/4" plug the ring and tip do different things.

I thought of that initially, but I also have a stereo insert plug (where there’s a stereo plug that separates the ring and the tip into two separate plugs.) and it still does the same thing, so i’m at a loss.

Chris - do you by chance have your CP-251 powered daisy-chain style from your VX-351?
If so, that’s the source of the problem. Sometimes a “ringing” happens between the power circuits of these two devices. The solution is simple enough; just power the CP-251 from an external (wall wart) adaptor instead of powering it through the Voyager. That should eliminate the sound.

Cheers,

Amos

it’s in the rackmount, and it’s not powered externally, so the daisychain is a safe assumption.

there goes my last excuse to sell my rogue. amos, you owe me the ebay insertion fee.

thanks!
