How to use MiniMoog Model D app on PC

I want to buy Model D app but looks like its only for MAC/iOS. Is there a way to use the model D app on my PC or with Ableton on my PC? if so how? Sorry if this is a dumb question I’m a complete noob. I tried to search for the answer but could not find what I was looking for. If someone could please show me the way.

Indeed, as far as I know, a version for Windows PC doesn’t exist at the moment. Only iOS / iPadOS / macOS. Hope this helps

Not a dumb question at all! While the Model D app is indeed designed for Mac/iOS, there are a few ways to work around this limitation to use it on your PC or integrate it with Ableton. Here’s how you can approach it:

  1. MIDI Integration via iOS Device
Use an iOS device to run the Model D app and connect it to your PC using a MIDI interface or USB-to-MIDI adapter.
In Ableton, you can set the iOS device as a MIDI input and route the app’s audio output into your DAW. This lets you play and record the sounds from the Model D app.
  2. Audio/MIDI Software Bridge
Some software, like Studiomux or Audiobus, allows audio and MIDI to flow between an iOS device and a PC over a USB connection. This makes it easier to work with iOS apps on a Windows setup.
  3. iOS Emulators
While not officially supported, you could explore iOS emulators like iPadian. However, they don’t always perform well for music apps and might not offer full MIDI or audio routing capabilities.
  4. Consider a VST Alternative
If the above options don’t work, you might look for VST plugins for PC that emulate the Minimoog Model D. Options like Arturia Mini V or Moog’s official VSTs can provide similar functionality and sound.
If you’re new to this, starting with MIDI integration via an iOS device is probably the easiest way to bridge the gap. Good luck, and don’t hesitate to ask if you need help with the setup!
