how to drop a picture on the board

hallo,
first sorry for my stupidity.
i want to put a picture with my message and always get the reply dropboxfull or ( once) .jpg is an invalid filename ??
that’s impossible as there is no picture dropped at all.
how can i upload a picture , directly or by link. and what are the limits in size, format etc ?
i already asked this question twice to the moderator but no answer yet , so anybody with insight in the right procedure, thanks.

Go to an image hosting site like Flickr or some place. Upload your image. Then copy and paste the link to the image in the box here, highlight it and click the IMG button so that your link will be proceeded by

(The %20 appears there for an unknown reason as the forum tries to embed an actual picture.)

I use photobucket, free and easy, you have to sign up though.

Its a good idea to host some of your pictures externally, I have got a studio folder set up so in the case of a fire or theft I can recall pictures to show to the insurance company.

The OS on most FTP sites do not recognize the space character and they convert it to “%20”

Crude yes, but these things are not desktop computers.

So sorry for my ignorance, but I was successful creating a link to the Flickr site, however I would like to know how you have pics appear in your actual thread post.

so as i understand the attachment function doesn’t actually show pictures you can upload ??
only by linking via "img “[img][http://www.joecrazy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/orange2.jpg[img](http://www.joecrazy.com/wp-content/uploads/2011/07/orange2.jpg[img)]
i’m sorry something is going very difficult in that respect.
on other sites, if i by example would like to upload a picture / jpg of my new sytnh , i press ( after selecting from my hard drive ) “upload”. few seconds later it’s finished and i can press " submit”
voila
on this forumsite all the time faultmessages appear, when i do it the normal way.
so please what’s the royal/ direct way ?

I added the forward slash to the suffix of the link

open bracket forward slash img close bracket.

thank you, it would be chinese to most people and certainly not the royal way i’d suspect from a up to date forum site ( sorry to say ) , but i’ll try to go and decrypt the message and show my latest purchase on the appropriate topicsite afcourse
