Minimoog Voyager Maple AE.

Would like to own a few more Moog products, but cash needed elsewhere at present!

MF-103
CP-251
Etherwave Theremin
Moog Song Producer! (although I don’t really use it)

Used to own a Source, which I miss.

Not shown: Polymoog, Liberation, Micromoog, Parametric EQ, Graphic EQ, Synamp, MF102, MF103, MF104(x2), CP251, VX351

signature series voyager #167 (maple)

in order of buy:

  • Prodigy (bought used in 1981)
  • Minimoog (1979 model, bought used 1983, Lintronic Midi-fied)
  • Voyager (used performer #1925 with blue wheels, traded in for a used Alesis A6 last summer)

I used to have a Source too in 1985. But it had the “crazy Source” problem. And there was no internet to check to make it behave again. I had to sell it cheap then :frowning: )

-2 Moog Minimoog Model D’s (one with Big Briar MIDI)
-2 Moog Liberations
-Moog Source
-Moog Sample & Hold
-2 Moog Drum Controllers
-Moog Hoodie…Ohhh and a shitload of random moog parts (poor little fellas)

One more thing… MC…I totally hate you (in a super envious way of course!)…beautiful set-up!

sold my mini D in the late 70’s and picked up a Source last year. Thinking of adding midi to it so I can use it with a SE-1 and Future Retro 777.

Recently sold a load but still have the following moogs

1 x Voyager SE#86 Cherry + 251/351
1 x Memorymoog (ex Peter Forrest AtoZ of Synthesisers book fame)
1 x Source (MIDI)
1 x Opus3 (on ebay.co.uk right now).

Sold in the last 6 months

1 x The Rogue
1 x Prodigy
1 x Multimoog
1 x LAM Model D (11888) with RMS mods
1 x SE MIDImoog (early moog VCO)

My setup is more Mooogerfooger based than keyboard based:

MF-101, 103, 104
CP-251

Micromoog
Rogue

You can hear the Micro here on the track “Philtre 927,” and the Rogue on “Taurus VI” at the same site, as well as here on “minus prolegomenon” (the drone). There are also Moogerfoogers scattered around, mainly on “Spewch,” “Taurus VI,” and “minus prolegomenon.”

Here’s the patch for the drone on “minus prolegomenon”:

and here’s a shot of my Rogue:

To MC and mee3d,

HOW THE HELL CAN YOU AFFORD ALL THAT???

As long as it doesn’t include a day job, I’d like to know. HA HA! :stuck_out_tongue:

Some pretty great setups guys. MC, you’re a maniac! mee3d, you’re right in there. I hope you didn’t have to do anything illegal to get all that gear!

The only Moog synths I have left are a set of Taurus One bass pedals, and a Moog Source. I previously owned two different Mini Moogs, both of which are gone.

MOOG Memorymoog L.A.M.M.

I owned also a MOOG Prodigy and Minimoog but I sold those (anyway I’ll ever buy back a Mini - stupid me :frowning: )

HOW THE HELL CAN YOU AFFORD ALL THAT???

Actually I can’t . . hence selling off some of the redundent kit (how many moog mono synths does one need?). Also . . within one month I had my memorymoog, Elka x705 Combi, and one of My Rhodes Chroma’s blow . . so there’s a £500 repair bill just there.

I’m a multimedia developer and work has been slow for the last couple of years (anyone need a website built?) so now I am asset striping. I plan just to have the following left:-

2x Rhodes Chromas (can sound like a Jupiter8, Oberheim and Yam CS all in one)
1x memorymoog
1x PPG 2.3/ Waveterm B (although if I can get a good price she will go too)
1x Voyager
1x Source (MIDI) and Roland PK5 pedals

Streamlining will allow me to actually get to grips with the various software that I have bought over the last year and not had the chance to use . . so far I am very happy with the sound of the impOSCar (having owned many OSCars in the past) and the KORG Legacy . . the polysix is pretty close, close enough for me to put up my polysix on ebay.

It also allows me to free up a room in the house . . it takes a lot of room to have a 32 keyboard set-up!!!

Mal

I acquired most of that stuff during the great analog dump of the 80s. I got great prices for the analog stuff when everybody was buyng samplers, Yamaha DX7s, and Roland D50s. And yes I have a day job :stuck_out_tongue:

I haven’t bought much new stuff in the last ten years; Voyager and Hammond XK3. The A6 is a beta unit from my beta test/sound design days with Alesis.

The Taurus pedals are the only vintage piece I bought since the 80s and I found those at a great price.

Hey MC:

I would have like to have kept more of my vintage gear, but I ended up owing the IRS :imp: a bunch of money and had to sell off an OBXa 8 voice, Mini Moog, CP70b, CP80b, JBL loaded PA cabinets, EV S18-3’s, a full rack case, and my beloved B3 and Leslie. The B3 and Leslie were never moved from the front of my music room from when I bought them brand new from A Hammond dealer back in the early seventies. I got practically nothing for the stuff by today’s standards. They were the only assets I had that I could turn into cash to get rid of G-men. Shit. :unamused:

Mike T.

Mike, sorry to hear that. You had a lot of good stuff, that’s sad you had to liquidate. You must have owed them a lot of money, that’s some primo gear value there.

The IRS came after me last year, but I beat back at them with their own publications that proved I was qualified for the alimony deductions under dispute. They picked the wrong time to pick a fight, because I was all fired up for my divorce trial. :imp: They had a tiger by the tail and ultimately they relented with no changes to my return. I would have had to liquidate some gear if I hadn’t roared back at them, I was broke by the end of the trial.

They have the occasional idiot doing examinations, and they figure most people would give in without a fight. Not me. I had done my homework and consulted with professionals when I did those returns. Having a CPA involved really lends credibility to a dispute.

MC:

It’s a long story, I’m not making the IRS the bad guys here. There was no doubt that I owed them the money, they were willing to “settle” for less if I paid up. I had put them off for a number of years saying I would be able to make it up by playing and recording, but expenses were eating to much of the take and it wasn’t going to work. So I paid them off and got on this my life. I wish I still had my OBXa and my Mini Moog. :frowning:

Mike T.

To MC (and anyone else who’ll read this), do any of you think that there’ll be another period like the 80’s, when the analogs fall back out of favour?

Eric.

I believe it will happen again as this industry is very cyclical.
