How do I get back original preset banks?

I just got the Electric Blue and editing software. I wanted to tryout some of the other banks before i had a chance to save the Electric Blue presets. Is there a way to reset this on the EB?

Also my editor software is version 1.0.5. Is theis the latest? Where can I get the update.

Thanks

You can load preset banks by simply using menus “Bank-> Moog Banks”.

That dosen’t have the Electric Blue bank.

I’ve got the electric blue and I’d like to try out the out the standard performer edition patches but I don’t want to wipe out the electric blue bank.

I’m looking at ‘1.1 Factory Sounds’ on page 42 of the EB manual, it looks like once you ‘restore’ the performer edition presets there’s no getting the EB presets back. As chance would have it I read that page before I got too experimental, just lucky I guess.

I’m waiting till I get a MIDI card before overwriting any patches.

I don’t own an Electric Blue (I have a Performer), but I was under the impression that the preset were the same in both.

In the Performer Edition, factory preset 001 is “I’m Ba-ack!!”

What is it in your EB?

No the EB ha a new batch of presets. A bunch from Bernie Worrell and people from the Moog factory. Steve Dunnington & Amos Gaynes. Those are pretty interesting because they really use all the latest OS features like Pot Mapping and wild Touchscreen usage. There are some really amazing ones that use the Mod Wheel to add this distortion to the patch.

Anways the EB starts with this patch.

#001 Big Detuned Bass

I hope I can get it back.

Nope, it just restored it to the Zon bank.

Perhaps someone at Moog can say when the EB presets will appear on this site ? I think the probability was mentioned before.

As you observed, the Voyager Editor software does not yet include the Electric Blue or Rack Mount Edition (RME) presets. Hopefully they will be included in the next software update. A call to Moog confirmed that they are planning on posting the EB preset bank soon, and the RME bank will eventually follow.

You could try calling Moog to see if they would send you the EB SysEx sound file, or wait a few weeks for them to post it. Either way, you will be able to get your presets back soon.

The four banks that are built into the Editor software are the same four that you can currently download from Moog. The banks were included in the software as a convenience feature. They are:

Anniversary Edition (Preset 001 is “Running Bass”)
Signature Edition (Preset 001 is “Oooof 001”)
TWolf25 (Preset 001 is “Classic Mini”)
Zon25 (Preset 001 is “I’m Ba-ack!!”)

Note: The Signature Edition bank only has 65 presets, not the full compliment of 128 you find in other banks.

The latest version of the Voyager Editor software is 1.07 (Mac), 1.18 (PC). You can get them here:
(Mac) http://moogmusic.com/detail.php?main_product_id=143
(PC) http://moogmusic.com/detail.php?main_product_id=138

Note that these are the complete versions and not simply updates.

To restore the factory presets directly from the Voyager:
Press the Master button
Select 4.4 “Copyright Info”
Press “+1” to get the Factory Setup menu
Select 1.1 “Factory Sounds”
Select “Y”

This procedure restores the Zon Vern Pyles bank (AKA Zon25) found in the Performer Edition. The reason for this is that the Voyager Firmware in the EB is the same as in the Performer (currently V2.5) and the Restore function is part of this firmware. I realize this doesn’t help your situation, however, so consider it ‘general info’ instead.

oops I just tried the reset for my AE and now have I’m Back as preset 1. Do I have to buy the editor to get my AE presets back now?

No you can download them from this site!

If you need help putting the presets back just ask.

thank-you, in a way I’m glad I did because I got to play around and found some presets that I had some fun with and tweaked. I think I will get the editor and get on with the job of programming this AE with a combo of presets and my own. I had no idea it would reset to a different group, live and learn.

I wan’t to put the Electric Blue presets back in my Voyager.

PLEASE PUT THEM IN THE DOWNLOAD SECTION!

I just read the OS 3.0 update, that will be great for those of us who are patch fantatics and luv to store as many as possible anf move them around for live gigging.

Why not just go with the Performer Edition presets?

I just got my electric blue yesterday. I would like to help everyone out that has been requesting a downloadable version of the EB presets. If anyone can tell me a quick step by step, I’ll try to do it tonight or tomorrow. I have a sound blaster audigy platinum card with midi. I have midi-ox installed. Thanks,

Set MidiOX to receive SysEx data, by going to View>SysEx, then go to SysEX>Receive Manual Dump. Select “send all presets” from the Voyager’s Master menu. Save the file.

shift,

you kick ass. I have been wanting to hear what they cooked up for the new 256 presets (electric & rme) with you, we’re halfway there. Let us know where we can download them, and most of all thanks.

Ok, this is my first time using MIDI, so I may be a little slow. I have a midi cable plugged into the Voyager MIDI Out port. This port has been turned “On” in the master menu, and I have set it to Channel 1.

The midi cable is plugged into an adapter that converts standard midi into mini 5 pin midi on Sound Blaster Audigy cards. I have the midi cable and adapter going into the Audigy “Midi In” port.

Now, in Midi-ox, i have pretty much the default options. I’ve made sure Pass Sysex is on, and went to Sysex, and chose “receive manual dump”. It looks ready to recieve, and I go to the voyager, and tell it to send all presets, however, no data is ever transferred.

I think the midi-ox software needs to be configured more possibly? I tried to check midi devices and input / output devices, but it’s very confusing. Any ideas? thanks in advance,

Firstly the midi cable will have two jacks on it. You’ll have to connect the midi out on the Voyager to the midi in cable.

In MidiOX make sure the midi device is configured, usually selecting (whatever the make of the card is) UART for both the input and output.

I can’t remember exactly what I did to get it to work.
