Home-brew Mult Circuits

Hi

Can anyone point me in the right direction on how to build a Mult? Can I just use any patchbay? My plan was to try and find a simple circuit and parts list online, that I might be able to patch together with my beginner-level soldering skills and a trip to the Radio Shack parts bin… Ideally I’d like to be able to Mult a Expression pedal (TRS signal)

Sorry if this should be obvious or my post is riddled with errors.

Thanks for your time!

Radio Shack sells a 1/4" stereo headphone jack splitter… essentially a $6 mult (multi?) already made up for you. Male on one end, and two females on the other. I just got one to split the keyboard out on my Rogue…

Very simple way (thanks to Ezratrice) is to get a Behringer PX-2000 patch bay. Set as many channels as you like to “paralell” with the selector switches on top.

Then, connect a cable in back of the bay between each channel (1 to 2, 2 to 3, 3 to 4, 4 to 5, etc…) and the front jacks (2 per channel) will all work as a mult. You can make several mults of different sizes (4-way, 6-way, 8-way, 10-way, etc.) so this will help a lot with LFOs and such.

Agreed. I have a PX-2000 for my mixer and I’m considering getting another just for my modular synth.

thanks for the suggestions, but when I read the moogerfooger manuals I thought it said something about not just splitting a signal, or about not plugging an expression pedal into multiple CV in’s…

just to be clear, I’d like to mult the envelope out from my MF101, that should be no problem

however I’d also like to mult the expression pedal I own; would this be a problem since the pedal uses DC power?

Perhaps someone can clarify this a little for me… thanks in advance!

I can’t see it being a problem since their cp-251 has a mult. and alot of the patches in the manuals have expression pedals going to the mult among other things

i’ve done it myself a couple of times and it’s pretty cool to control 3 other parameters simultaneously. just remember to use trs cable
