I don’t know how to update the firmware on my LP-S. I’ve downloaded the patch/update, but I have no idea how to update. I’m using a CME brand MIDI/USB interface, which I have had a ton of trouble with. The first 2 weeks I had it, it only worked about 1 out of 10 times I plugged it in, and now does not work at all. I’m a mac user and figured that once I have the update downloaded I could just connect the computer and the LP with my MIDI/USB interface and it would automatically detect and install the update. Is this right? I know I need a new midi/usb interface because the one I have now just plain doesnt work like its supposed to.

I’m a mac user (tiger). sorry if this is such an ignorant question, this is my first moog product (and indeed my first synthesizer) and I need some assistance learning the basics. thanks.

All OS updates are midi files. In order to update your LP you need to open the midi file in a sequencer program and play the sequence into your LP.

what would be an example of a sequencer program? could i use garageband?

Hey! You can use some soft la midi OX. Or check de Editor Librarian. I think the demo will update the OS, too.

LP SE was my first synth, too. Its so easy and fun to program (and sounds sooo phatt) that U really felt in love with it.

Garageband looks like it should work. Just import the OS onto a midi track and play it into the LP. I believe your tempo should be set at the default of 120bpm.

BTW Midi-Ox is for PC only.

Or better yet, I just checked the manual for the OS update and for Mac, it suggests using SysEx Librarian available from http://www.snoize.com/.
