Hey, I’m getting my first Voyager this week and I had a few questions. First off, I am getting a used Performer edition. Is there anything in particular I should check to see that it’s in “working” condition? After that, anything cool I should check out first or any tips in general? Thanks.
Hi.
welcome to the forums.
Congrats on your new gear. It is a real gem.
Be sure to get the correct cable to use the mixer out/filter in jack.
My only advice is to check every pot, input, output, and key. Then you might want to see if it up-to-date. Currently the OS is v3.4. Check and see if it has the update for the expanded preset capacity. New Voyagers have the ability to store 127 patches on 7 banks (A-G). You move through the banks by pressing Cursor and the +/- buttons. If not, for a small amount of money you can buy the update. It’s easy to install. Enjoy.
Am I correct in thinking that as long it has 3.x I should be able to update to 3.4?
Seller just refunded my money saying that he decided to keep it -_-
Oh man! What a prick!
Hmmmm that calls for a new clinical term in the Moog Diagnostic handbook…
That could probably be Moog rejection…ill think of a better one.
Man thats like totally wetting your whistle and then strarving you.
If you are willing to tell us how much you dropped for that unit, we might can find some other alternative. You might be able to get a comporable deal on something for about what you woudl have paid for that one.

It would have been around $2000 shipped to Hawaii. It’s good in a way because I’m getting a bunch of stuff and I probably wouldn’t have had time to use/learn it all. I definitely want a Voyager but it might be good to wait for me, at least for now.
Ill bet you could have gotten an OS from novamusik for a little over 2100. I don’t know about the shipping. 2000 is a little too much to pay for a used Voyager!
You coudl definately get a phatty though and some foogers.
Eric
I’ve been watching eBay auctions for a while and used Performers seem to be going for around $2000. I was thinking about the OS but I think I need MIDI. I can wait, I’m sure the economy will get worse and I’ll be able to pick one up cheaper ![]()
Moog amputation? Moogotomy? Moogectomy? I kinda like Moogectomy. As in, Brian just suffered a Moogectomy. ![]()
How about: unattained Moogasm…

Brian, don’t fret! There’s still hope! Keep saving your money, and maybe you’ll have enough for a Voyager! Start a savings account just for a Voyager, and save, say, $20 a week. You’ll have enough for a new one in a couple of years. Double that to $40 a week, and you’ll have the money in a year! ![]()
Haha, I got the money but I’d rather buy a used one at a reasonable price. I guess I can wait a bit…
Not to rub salt in the wound, but I picked mine up for $1,669 on eBay last week! They can be gotten inexpensively. I’ve also got a guy trying to sell me his 1 month old Little Phatty for $800. He wants an OS.
They are out there. There are 2 RME’s on Craigslist around here right now.
