I just bought a second hand MOOG Little phatty Stage I with the OS 1.03. Could anybody explane me please what is exactly the upgrade procedure?
I know that I have to do several upgrades step by step. I would like to update it to the ultimate software 3.21. I know that my OS is really old, but I need the arpeggiator function for my Little Phatty.
Hi, I could not do the same procedure from the same reasons! There is a risk of crashing the entire system. Now I’m looking for the firmware to restore the firmware via jtag. All the hope for Amos!)
The arpegiator was introduced in OS2.0. There is document titled LPOS20_Addendum.pdf -not sure it is still available online but I can provide it if needed.
This document’s Appendix A explains the update procedure. That will never been said enough: first save all your presets, then go slowly, step by step through the procedure. Some information about updating a Stage 1 LP in this topic.
For going to version 3.XX, there is a document titled LP_v2-v3_Update_Instructions_OSX.rtf. This one may be available online. It requires a supllementary step (loading a new boot loader).
At first I updated my LP from 1.03 to 2.21 without any problem .
And then , I followed the instructions to updated it from v.2.xto 3.x. First I had to install the BOOTLOADER to LP and then after restart the instrument (or without restart, I do not remember) the bootloader has installed the last OS;)
My second hand Little Phatty Tribute edition is running the os 1.03 and I would also like to update it to the latest. Could somebody explain me the whole procedure step by step? Which steps do i need to follow so that the whole instrument doesn’t crash? Your help would be much appreciated!
But I think you should to contact with the Moog support first, and then READ VERY CAREFULLY the instructions in the document that goes with the OS update.
Okay, could somebody explain what this means: If your LPTE is still on OS v1, then you cannot update the firmware before first upgrading the hardware. So how do i update the hardware!?
