Filter cutoff potentiometer metal noise

Hay all,

I’ve had my Subsequent 37 for about 10 months and it usually lives under a dust cover when not in use, I also don’t live in a humid climate.

I’ve gone to use it this evening and noticed that the filter cutoff potentiometer when I turn it makes an audible kinda metal on metal noise? All the other pots are completely silent and glide as expected.

I have opened a support ticket with Moog to see what I should do or if this is a repair job. But wanted to see if anyone else experienced and how they would have dealt with it if Moog say it’s not an issue.

Did you ever get a reply for Customer Support. I’m having a similar issue with a newly purchased Sub 25. I’m wondering if it’s something that I can simply ignore. My Minitaur is much smoother by comparison.

Hello, brand new Subsequent37 here - also have this issue straight out of the box, noticeable “friction” noise, especially when turning the knob fast. None of my many other synths has this. Any replies from support?

Sorry for taking ages to reply.

Yeah, got a reply from support and they allowed me to send my Subsequent37 in for repair - only to be told by a technician that the filter used on the Subsequent’s is unique and this is expected and well within norms.

I must have been so excited about the device when it was brand new to have not noticed. :man_shrugging:

thanks a lot for (even late) reply, this has just put ease to my mind and saved me from return process
