February 2026- Muse Purchased in Minnesota

I feel like someone who just woke up from a 3 year coma. The last synth I got was a Subsequent 37, and now , just this past week, I brought home my new Moog Muse, purchased on Feb 6, 2026, new. Without looking at online forums , or knowing anything except for Moog reputation , and my love of the SubSequent37, I turned it on, and immediately realized there was a tuning issue. Many “quick tunes” later, and Im a week into this thing, yet still out of tune. I did discover on any / all INIT patches, it’s always voice 3 that is out. No QuickTune resolves this. So I send a support ticket …..that was 3 days ago. Still waiting for just a response!

I’m not gonna do the “angry driver” thing , and be hateful or negative, but I think it’s reasonable to expect this issue to be addressed , after spending 3k on this thing…..and an especially reasonable expectation after seeing so , so many people experiencing the very same issue. I truly want to be productive, and I want to believe that Moog will respond, and help me resolve this. I would seriously do anything I possibly could, to support, and be a proponent of whatever ends up being the resolution of this issue. I would spread the word! As a content creator , and 30 years of creating/recording music, I am well aware of “Murphy’s Law” (anything that can go wrong will go wrong), and can’t begin to count the snafu moments that led me to a positive, productive moment. C’mon Moog. Let’s get this one across the finish line. I am fairly sure that there’s an amazing team of engineers who designed this instrument. So much potential! Why leave this to the birds ? I think it’s time to at least put up a better solution than your video showing how to perform Quick Tune. I’m no electronics wiz, but I’d be thrilled to follow whatever instructions for adjusting the cards , or whatever it takes. …..but this instrument’s current condition, at Firmware 1.4 ……this isn’t it. This surely isn’t what you intended to put out. . Let’s get this resolved. Please. At the very least , I think the collective purchasers who put out 3k and up for this deserve support. How about just answering the support ticket from one dude whose city just got raided and abused by Federal ICE militia? I need a win.

Sincerely,

Hi,

I would suggest taking it back and getting a replacement.

It’s what I’d do in the UK (where consumer law puts the onus on the supplier to resolve).

I left this comment on another thread, but wanted to leave it here ,as this was my original post-

ust wanted to chime in, after letting it cool all night, and doing a full Auto Tune /Re Calibrate. I believe the temp onscreen was 22c when I started. Had to wait about 30 min before the onscreen “WAITING FOR TEMPERATURE” to show the synth had climbed to 36c, and the process began. That took about another 30 minutes ( maybe 45?). I came back downstairs, and started playing…….it seems to have WORKED!

INIT patches are now showing any and all voices to be musical , fat, and IN TUNE. I am still waiting for “Support Ticket” to be responded to. I’m going to keep this positive, but if Moog is listening…..please , at the very least, respond to these support requests! The people who bought these synths have paid dearly for them. They deserve better.

I leave mine on. I purchased it a few months ago, am on 1.4 firmware, and I leave it on most of the time. Even then, I will do TWO quick tunes until pressing the same note in a repeated way produces only one tone, not every 3rd or 4th out of whack. It’s analog, so it’s going to happen. It doesn’t bother me. If I turn it on from a cold start, I’ll give it an hour before I would record it, but heck, you play it right away. I love the damn thing, quirks and all, and think in 40 years it will be the next Juno 106 or Prophet 5. Color me moog!

John,

Same thing here, I bought mine last dec. and had the exact same thing happen. Voice 3 always.

I never did a full calibration (I may in the future) for me when it’s cold out voice 3 is out of tune when I fire it up. I just let my muse warm up for 15 min before I want to work with it and fire off a quick tune and it get’s corrected.

Thank you for your replies , and I’m glad to know it’s not just user error.

Which ….i can admit , I am fully capable of user error , but I knew this tuning issue was being experienced by many people around the globe.

I should say , Moog Support did in fact finally email me . I had already fixed the issue with a full tune/ calibration. One thing they said that irritated me a bit , was his insistence that “ALL analog synths have this issue”.

I candidly told him “ I’m sitting surrounded by a Subsequent 37, a Prophet 6 , and the Muse , yet the only synth that has this issue is the Muse. “

I think I’m a reasonable person. I don’t mind troubleshooting. I just don’t think they should lead with “all synths have this issue” , when it’s crystal clear the Muse has been known to have this particular tuning issue worldwide.

All that said , I agree 100% with the gentleman above who said once he got it to be consistent, it’s an amazing instrument, and will likely be on the level with the Juno 106.

I was seriously about to return it , and now I’m so glad I didn’t. The Prophet 6 has its character, but the Muse is a color machine. It’s loaded with modulation paths , and clever ways to sound design.

That said , I think Moog or whoever is running Moog these days should take a look at companies like Dangerous, or even Sequential who have a modest , yet accessible customer support system in place.

It may also help if they humbly recognize that the Muse has a unique issue with this tuning snafu.

It only frustrates the customer when they’re told “this is how all analog synths behave “.

It’s similar to a dog breeder selling rabid Pit Bulls telling the buyer “all dogs bite sometimes “.
