It gave me this poll idea…

Vince Clarke
Rick Wakeman is easily my favorite. I still cant get over the solo sections he does in South Side of the Sky, on the Yes 35th Anniversary Concert on the Tsongas DVD!!
Dont worry about trying to get wakeman to do a show, try and get Yes to tour again! ![]()
(there are rumours that they are to tour next year to celebrate their 40th Anniversary. Yes fans can only hope!)
Ouch. Too difficult! Favourites?
KEYBOARDISTS:
Rick Wakeman, (first heard 7 wives as a boy in 1980)
Stevie Wonder,
Rick Wright (his playing to me is so sublime)
SYNTHESISTS:
Brian Eno
Ed Wynne (Ozric Tentacles)
Geir Jennsen (Biosphere)
Dave Greenslade (because of the Pentateuch -
the first ever synth sounds I heard as a boy in 1980)
Pete Namlock
Wendy Carlos, Tim Blake, and Miquette Giraudy, in any order.
Klaus Schulze for moods
Manfred Mann for solos
Christopher Franke (ex TD) for sequences
Wendy Carlos for orchestration and the timeless track “Timesteps”
Boele Gerkes (Something Completely Different)for goose bumps
SAGA for the great Moog sounds on the old records ![]()
Herbie Hancock, George Duke, Joe Zawinul, Tony Banks, Chick Corea,
Rick Wright (damn’ I LOVE Pink Floyd), Vangelis (great gigs with his Yamaha CS-80 synths), Rick Wakeman (his Yes years), and many more…
Rick Wakeman, Keith Emerson Jon Lord and these days the amazing Tomas Bodin from The Flower Kings
I pretty much like anybody that can still play once the power has been shut off.
Moogs don’t sound very good when the power is off.
The topic isn’t favorite Moog players.
Some non-keyboardist/synthesists who can still play with the power off>
Tom Scott - Lyricon driver through Moog Modular 12 (woodwinds)
Mark Isham - Moog Modular 12, Oberheim 4 voice (trumpet/keyboards)
Michael Brecker - Steiner EWI though Oberheim Expander (saxophone)
Michael Brecker will have some problems still, considering he died earlier this year ![]()
I like when they play with one finger, like Chris Lowe.
Yeah, sadly Michael Brecker is only power off now.
all of the synth work done by the members of The Residents, Joey Karam of The Locust. Which I must say he has an extremely impressive setup nowadays, Voyager, multimoog and pretty extensive MOTM modular setup.

I think (correct me someone) that the early Residents stuff was done with Serge.
I’m also glad Joey’s Multimoog is up there on stage and not on my shelf any longer ![]()
He has two of 'em.
Yeah i was wondering how he gigged so much with his multi, hes been using em for years and i run into trouble gigging mine once a month.
