Faulty Moog Muse & Replacement

Hi there

I thought I would share my 6month experience with Moog Muse.

Firstly below is the list of issues together with actions used to try various fixes.

Since delivery, the instrument has displayed persistent faults that significantly affect normal use, including:

unstable sequencer behaviour,
patch and timbre state corruption,

unpredictable changes during normal playing.

Additionally a new fault now seems to be surfacing whereby the voices when being played start going out of tune which means I cannot use this keyboard in live situations as intended.

These issues persist despite extensive troubleshooting.

I have thoroughly followed all recommended procedures, including:

Updating to the latest firmware v1.4

Global reset

Disk‑mode sequence clearing

Full Auto Tune & Calibration (completed successfully)

Panel Calibration (completed and stored)

Multiple clean power‑up tests

Despite this, all the faults continue and seem to increase making this unusable for me to perform.

I had various interaction with Inmusic/Moog , however communication was an issue as I was not able to speak with any technical specialists all communication was done by only email.

Therefore after six months of patiently trying to get the Muse working correctly and nearly losing the plot at times I decided to request a Muse replacement.

I see this experience as time consuming and inconvenience for myself as I had been I feel that I have spent a great deal of time on this keyboard investigating these faults that should not have been present in the first place. I am writing to the manufacturer separately on this subject.

Finally yesterday after waiting 3 weeks I received a new Moog Muse replacement ( thanks to the vender who did a great job for me) which fun

Used to talk to Moog it was a simple pick up the phone and say hello. They knew what the deal was and the problem would be solved quickly. In music appears to me to be this giant corporation scooping up all these other music companies to skim off the top. I’m sorry but that’s what it seems like to me. All communications have to go through in music and it is so annoying. If in music would go away I think Moog would be a better company.

For my Sub37 in music had me wipe off all the coating on the mod wheels using alcohol because it became sticky. Maybe that’s the official fix? Seemed cheap.

I do think in music has attempted to make an ai type support system that can be pretty impressive.

I totally agree with you sentiments regarding Inmusic.

I just hope that my replacement Muse is stable as I don’t want to go anymore hassle.

I have other keyboards from Yamaha and Arturia and so far no problems with them.

I just hope that What’s left of Moog it’s about the legacy of what was a great name.

If you look at this forum across the different products their seems to be a great deal of people who are not getting the necessary support they deserve.

Maybe someone will eventually see the logic in providing good client service.
