Electrice blue and clavinet

One thing I’ve noticed is with my electric blue voyager sitting on top of my hohner D6 clavinet, when I use the clav that high pitched ring actually comes through the clav’s sound! Now the D6 clavinet is notorious for having no sort of shielding (which is why hohner came up with the E7 clav) but the noise from the voyager’s lights is most definately noticeable. The solution? Turn the lights off of move the clav from under the voyager. See, even when these noise issues come up there’s usually always a very simple and intuitive solution. Choosing the electric blue over the performer should be an esthetic or monatary choice and nothing else. I will say it’s a whole hell of a lot easier to see the knobs when you’re playing live with the electric blue. Also if you keep the brightness level under 50% you’ll never really heard the whine anyway!

My clavinet picks up all sorts of noise. I have to be careful about even putting certain pedals at certain spots on top of it. Clavinets are very temperamental about other gear being near them.

Interference happens all the time with my guitar rig. If the guitar is plugged into the MMV I have to turn the light almost off to get rid of the squeal. I have a monster rack power supply but I haven’t tried to use it in a gig setting yet. Somehow I don’t think that filtered power would make a difference.

Anything with a pickup (i.e. a guitar or clavinet) is going to have interference issues. The Monster PS won’t solve the issues with the backlights interfering with pickups. The Monster deals with grounding problems, I believe.

Yes, clavinets are the worst!! I’ve even made a little box of sorts out of aluminum foil around the electronics section of my clav (under the rocker switches). It has really worked wonders for the sound purity of the clav but still picks up the voyager’s blue lights. However, anyone lookiung to get rid of some noise in their clav I highly recommend doing this.
