After about 6 months of deliberation, I’ve decided to go with the Anniversary Edition. It was the pretty blue lights that persuaded me in the end! ![]()

Good choice, you won’t regret it!
All the best with it.
cheers ![]()
Thanks!
I know I’ll enjoy the Mini, I can’t wait to get started with it.
I may look into the etherwave pro sometime next year as well.
For the full fun with the Voyager’s 2 modulation busses, you should have a modulation pedal handy. A passiv one will do the job. I use a real cheap one without a problem.
Thanks for the advice, QWave, I will definately look into modulation pedals!
I’m really happy about the order!
How is the manual, is it fairly thorough? I don’t want to miss out on anything the Voyager has to offer. There will definately be many late nights with the Voyager.
The manual isn’t bad.
But it took me a while to really get used to the way the modulation busses are working. But once you understand these (and most likely faster then me) you will have no question left unanswered by the manual.
Awesome! thanks again!
The Voyager is home!!! ![]()
I’m at work, so it is sitting in its box…waiting…

I know this special feeling. Its the same feeling we all got when being a child and were close to christmas eve. Maybe gear-lust is something like the kids addiction to new toys. Maybe it no something like, but actually the same ![]()
How To -
Congrats on the your new AE! I’ll bet you’re gonna get very busy with it in the next few days. Enjoy it. Savor it. It isn’t everyday you become the proud owner of a Minimoog!
Realize that there are three other banks of factory patches available here. Including the AE bank that will come with your new baby, you’ll have 512 patches total (4 x 128) to play and experiment with.
Also, if you have 'em, try plugging the Voyager into some reverb and/or delay effects - adds a nice extra touch.
Have fun, twist some knobs, bliss out!
QWave…I think you’re right! In fact I’m tempted to hold off until Christmas to play it!
GregAE…"Realize that there are three other banks of factory patches available here. Including the AE bank that will come with your new baby, you’ll have 512 patches total (4 x 128) to play and experiment with. "
***…where are the other 384 presets besides the AE bank of which you speak? Do they come pre-programmed with the Voyager, or are they downloadable with something like Sysex Librarian or the Moog patch editor? (I didn’t see anything about them on the site, and I haven’t fired up the Voyager yet…stupid job ; )
One other thing…I’ve been using Sysex Librarian with my Mac for Sysex patch transfers and it has always worked fine, should I still look into the Moog Patch Editor? Thanks!
aah, I see, you mean the (3 x 128) presets that come with all Voyagers and the 128 presets that come with the AE, correct?
“The Anniversary Edition will feature a new bank of presets from outstanding Moog players…plus a selection of presets cooked up at the Moog factory.”

This depends on the way you use the Voyager.
If you are playing live and need to sort the patches for easier access on stage (remember, you can’t reach patch #120 within a second if you are playing #20 or so) its recommended. If you are getting a bit confused, because the knobs don’t represent the actual values stored during editing it recommended too.
This is how I think when to recommend the software. Others might have additional points or totally different opinions. Why not giving the free demo a testdrive and check for yourself?
Much fun with the new synth !!!
Thanks, QWave! Yes, I planned on downloading the demo after I’ve gotten started with the Voyager…
Also-
Are there other factory patches for the Voyager that can be downloaded from this site? I’m a bit confused still…I can’t seem to find where they are on the site.
On the Moog site, under each version of the Voyager, go to the software section. There you’ll find the presets mentioned. You can install them via the demo version of the editor software (I think you can download them via that software anyway).
Hahhah, there they are right in front of me.
Thanks!
Glad to hear that you found the other factory banks.
A point of clarification - the ‘Signature Edition’ bank contains only 65 presets, not the complete bank of 128. The ‘Zon’ bank and Thom Wolfe banks both contain 128 presets. So there are “only” 321 other presets to check out after you’ve auditioned the 128 in the AE (a combined total of 449 presets in four banks).
And BTW, Sysex Librarian is a great tool for transferring patches to/from the Voyager.
