I’ve always enjoyed electronic music, and I think a lot of that comes from growing up with classic PlayStation games. Running a small retro gaming hobby site (https://ps2biosonline.com/) has made me revisit many of those soundtracks, and it’s surprising how creative composers were with the hardware they had.
I’m curious if anyone else here was inspired by video game music before getting into synthesizers or music production. Were there any PS1, PS2, or other retro game soundtracks that influenced your interest in synths or sound design?
I’d love to hear your recommendations and discover some soundtracks I may have missed.
