DFAM Audio Bleed Issue

Hello,

I received my DFAM yesterday, and after some quick tests, I noticed that when I set the synth to the Default settings (as described in the manual, page 8), I can hear some bleed from the levels in the Mix section on any of the channels (VCO 1, VCO 2, Noise/Ext Level). The sound seems to come after the filter, as changing the filter settings affects the signal.

Is this kind of bleed normal (for example, on the initial Default settings patch)? I have a feeling that the VCA or VCA Decay might not be properly calibrated—is that possible? Is there a way to calibrate them or fix this issue?

Other than that, the DFAM works correctly, and I’m very happy with the module—it really delivers as praised. However, this issue is concerning, and I’m worried I might have to request a replacement and deal with the hassle.

I would appreciate it if someone could confirm whether this behavior is normal.

Regards

I opened a support ticket on Moog’s website and have just received an official response, which I’m sharing here for reference in case others encounter a similar issue:

“Unfortunately, this is not normal behavior and appears to be a hardware issue. I sincerely apologize for the inconvenience. You will need to request a replacement from the original point of purchase.”

Had the same thing, it was a VCA calibration issue. Push for a warranty repair if the place you purchased can’t do an exchange. You’ll prob have to pay for shipping if they agree

Where’d you get yours from? Wonder if same place I did

I bought this as an open-box item on Amazon.de, and they did not offer an exchange or repair—only a return. Moog offered to repair it, but I ended up returning it because I needed it for a performance. Despite everything, I plan to look for another unit, as I really liked the module.
