This was just released today: http://defectiverecords.com/cyclic/ Seriously awesome! Hooked my LP up to it. Tweek it just right and it’ll blow your mind! Next gonna hook up a couple of synths to it.

from the site:
• 32 note array
• 6 independent subsequences
• independent MIDI output from each subsequence
• internal or MIDI clock
• 20 presets, controllable by mouse or MIDI program change, can be saved to disk
• note constraint to user selectable scale
• note randomization (note value and location)
• adjustable GUI size

yeah, fo sho! I totally had one of those “dude, this thing is great! I gotta tell someone!” Most of my friends (other than my bandmates) don’t seem to get my love for synths. I was just saying to someone earlier how addicting it is to hook a synth up to a scope and watch the waves. :stuck_out_tongue:

Cyvlic or psychic? LOL Thanks for the post - I was just looking for a Mac sequencer this morning! LOL Looks good!

EDIT: Just ordered it, but not a fan of paying for something and having to wait for the vendor to do it in their own time. “24-48” hours after payment received? Come on fellas - it’s the 21st century.

EDIT 2: Dan took just a couple of hours to come back with registration ID and codes. A very cool tool indeed - will be trying it out today in earnest. I love how it can sequence different patterns based on the same notes to different MIDI devices simultaneously. Should provide some entertaining results. :slight_smile:

Omaroo, Glad Dan was able to get it to you quicklyish!

I tried it out with my LP and it was definitely proving to be a very unique tool. I recorded a bit of video of it here. Didn’t get any video of it with the Moog, but with a Tetra, it’s quite interesting when used in Multi-Mode. Right now all of my money is waiting for the release of the Minitaur which I have preordered. Once that is done, I’m buying this!

I downloaded the demo. I don’t need to be wasting time trying to learn something new; as I’m trying to dig into what I have. But, this does seem nice.

Am I correct that Cyclic only sends note messages and not any other MIDI CC’s?

Being able to tweak parameters besides note numbers would be a great feature for the next update.

Thats correct. Dan has mentioned that he wanted to get the sequencer out first, then add MIDI and VST/AU hosting later. Also heard some talk of creating a hardware version once the MIDI is implemented. All those blinking LEDS! :open_mouth:
