Convince me to buy the patch panels

hey gang.
I just bought an RME and i am loving it.
i have investigated with great interest the CV 351 and 352 boxes, but im a clittle concerned as I dont see the individual VCO outputs on there? i would really love if this made the RME modular but im questioning whether it will be that inspiring. i would love to patch a VCO to another and then chain that into the output and into the the filter for audio rate modulation.

anyone?

Read the “Lord of The Ring Mod” article found elsewhere on this site (in MoogSpace maybe). Ignore the fact that it talks about the RingMod if you’re not interested in that but otherwise it has some good examples of using the VX-351.

How would you patch one CV into another. Sync? If you’re after a VCO, there’s a unit coming out called the Freqbox: http://moogmusic.com/detail.php?main_product_id=21052

You could use the mix out to tap the raw oscillators, but you would have to mult it if you wanted the same oscs to be filtered and used as CV.

I guess im not making myself clear.
What i would like to do is have access to all 3 oscilators discretely. That is Pitch in/out, and Wave In/out. this isnt possible, right?
I wonder if these patches are available in the 25pin cable, but thats a future break out box.

Anyone with an RME that can add some info here? Do you find it really makes the RME modular like doepfer etc.?

I should have seen this thread:
http://www.bigbriar.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=2873&sid=2156106c388637813fdd6f30c163f6bc

Do the people from that thread have advice on whether or not to get the 351, 352, and possibly a cp251 with thr RME?

Anyone care to post samples of their RME and cp/vx break out boxes in a modular setup kind of environment? Drones, patching, live tweaks, etc.

Convince me to make the RME modular!

i just cant see much benefit to having the CV and VX boxes. Doesnt seem like patching internal is that interesting… am i wrong?
