Hi, I’ve seen a video where someone connected their Little Phatty to their iPad to control Animoog via the Camera Connection Kit. I’ve been trying to do the same through a Slim Phatty. My set up consists of a Nordlead keyboard connected via MIDI to a Slim Phatty. Then I connected the USB of the Slim to the iPad via the Camera Connection Kit. I keep getting an error that says “Cannot Use Device: The connected USB device requires too much power”.
Now wouldn’t there be the same issue with the Little Phatty? What should the MIDI settings on the Slim Phatty be? Is this a futile pursuit? Thanks to anyone that can help!
I’m assuming what you saw was this http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vWOtKo-8KSo
In your configuration, you would either want to use a MIDI to iPad cable or a MIDI to USB cable
and connect that to your camera kit.
The Slim Phatty is not a controller. How could you use it with the animoog app? Do the knobs transmit MIDI? I do not think it’s going to work.
I run the animoog with my ipad2 in an Alesis dock and it works good.
I have the iO Dock and Line 6 Midi Mobilizer II but do not have a camera kit to try and connect to USB. To my knowledge the Alesis IO dock’s USB is MIDI out only. Could you use midi? I do not know what the full MIDI implementation of the Animoog app is. I have used it controlled with my Fantom X6 going into the iO dock but it was basically note on and off. I did not try any other controller data nor have I tried my LP Stage II with it.
