I picked up a Taurus II this past summer, both brain and pedal board, but just recently started working with it more intently. I’ve been using a phrase sampler to make some pretty good progressions using just the pedal board, but it’d be much easier to play lead lines on a regular keyboard. I’m too cheap to go out and buy another synth, but does anyone know if it’s possible to interface the Taurus II brain with a trigger source other than the pedals? If so, what specific keyboards would work with it?
Well it has the same CV/Gate inputs as the Rogue, so you can use those, but if you’re too cheap to buy another keyboard what were you thinking of using as a trigger source? If it was a modern keyboard then you’d also need a MIDI to CV converter. If you were going for a true CV/Gate keyboard your options are limited as most would incorporate a synth and push up the expense. Also if memory serves the Rogue/Taurus II had some weird thing where it started on F rather than C for its reference voltage, but I may be wrong there. A MIDI/CV converter would be able to fix this with scaling.
