I saw the thread about restoring factory presets and I downloaded the sysex file “sub37_factory_presets_v1.syx” onto my Mac computer. Now I want to replace the presets already on my Sub 37 with these factory presets. I connected my Mac and Sub 37 with a cord having a standard USB plug on the computer and the miniUSB port on the Sub 37. Then I migrated over to MIDI MENU 3.4 and activated the ALL PRESETS command on the synth. I thought it was working because the MIDI button flashed for a couple of minutes and then stopped. But of course nothing happened. I suppose that I should be running the sysex file while doing the DUMP, but I don’t know how. Of course I am a newbie at manipulating sysex functions.
Can someone bail me out?

MIDI Menu 3.4 / All Presets sends all 256 presets from your Sub37 to a computer. What you want is exactly the opposite: send sysex file from your computer to Sub37. You don’t need to put the synth into any special mode, it will accept the sysex as soon as you send it. To send sysex you will need to download and install sysex transfer utility, for example Electron C6, from here: http://www.elektron.se/support-and-downloads (scroll all the way to the bottom of the page).
Hope this helps,

Thanks, Peter. You pointed me in the right direction. As it turns out, the file sub37_factory_presets_v1.syx is executable and contains all the info on factory presets. I just had to connect the Sub 37 to my computer, open that program and hit the play button. Easy Peasey!

I have the problem that my sub 37 arrived today totally empty of presets. Where can o download that sysex file?
For some reason the moog was totally empty of presets on delivery. Downloading the file mentioned here did the trick.

I think this is the last one.
