cleaning minimoog D oscillator board edge contacts

hey all,

I was just wondering what people are using to clean the edge contacts on the oscillator boards on the Minimoog D?

They remind me a lot of old nintendo cartridges, specifically the way the edge contacts are formed and mate with the connector seem to be very similar-- I remember I used to use all the time on my old NES games: http://www.ebay.com/itm/4oz-Bottle-of-Finishing-spray-4oz-Bottle-Cleaning-Paste-For-Refill-NES-Kit-/370549635286?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item56467ab8d6

I remember it working absolutely perfectly on the video games; has anyone tried this on a real Mini though? I don’t see conceptually any reason why it wouldn’t but thought i’d check in with the experts :wink:

Thanks in advance

I just use denatured alcohol. Don’t use isoprophyl or rubbing alcohol or other diluted mixes because it will leave a film behind.

@willstring,

A little search (using the Search tool at the top) on this forum would have resulted in many other threads mentioning “cleaning contacts”, along with many similar and useful answers. :wink:
