The Rhodes is back this summer. What magical times we live in! But why does he already have one? I mean, it’s just Chick Corea.

Considering that video is 34 years old, I don’t think it’s one of the new Rhodes versions.

I believe he’s referring to the one in the promo clip for the coming tour. Thats a Mark V. They’ve been around for a bit, although there aren’t a lot
of them.
Haven’t heard anything more about the supposed “new” ones.

I saw a Mark V once on ebay, I had never heard of them before. I guess they’re rare. I’m not sure when they’re from, I’m guessing early-mid '80s, before Roland got a hold of them.

I’ve played with the Mark V at the Musikmesse in Frankfurt last year when it was brand new, it should be available by know I guess..
Yeah I was referring to the video posted by ZBQ, though if it is Return to Forever its possible they had the Voyager and the New Rhodes 30 years ago lolo.
Now Ill bet in the coming months/years we will be seeing threads on other forums like “Mark I vs Mark V” similar to the old Model D vs Voyager which will evolve to My Mark I Model D combo vs your Mark V Voyager combo which will just be totally insane.
I do love the vintage sound of the old Rhodes but if you think about it, the newer ones will almost have the advantage because how many people out there modded their old Rhodes to get the Midi and more. Id love to own both suitcase versions, then again Id love to be able to buy my father the Midi Rhodes to sit beside his vintage suitcase that I curretly am breathing new life into.
BTW have you seen on their website the VIP passes for 299 with a meet/greet tour and soundcheck afterparty access?

the rhodes mark v was built around 1984. i believe there were 2 made with midi and chick got one of those. the new one’s are mark 7’s.
