bug: Latch mode locks up

Has anyone else experienced this?
Could this just be a problem with my specific unit?

Sometimes when I play a line in latch-mode (using the foot pedals not MIDI)
the sound engine locks up:
a given note, e.g. the ‘a’, persists (as it should), but
hitting another note, e.g. ‘b’, doesn’t do anything.
Hitting ‘a’ again does turn off the sound (as it should),
and allows another note to be struck,
but then that note will still be in the same locked state.

Toggling the latch (octave) foot-switch fixes the problem.

This happens at (apparently) random times while playing
relatively fast passages in this mode.

I’ve upgraded the firmware from 1.13 to 1.2:
this seems to have reduced the frequency that these lockups
occur, but not eliminate them.

I am also experiencing the exact issue you’ve described. I’ve updated to the latest firmware (2.0.2) from 1.13, however the problem still persists. It appears to happen quite often too, usually after every 5-10 minutes while operating in latch mode.

I really hope the Moog developers are still providing support on the T3, because this bug really hurts when playing live. I’m not holding my breath on this one though, as this issue seems to have been hanging around in every version…

As you mention foot pedals I assume your are referring to the Taurus 3. Firmware 1.2 is old. Try the latest firmware 2.0.2:

Back up your patches first.

To summarize my previous post (which I tried editing, and it has since disappeared)…

I’m on 2.0.2 right now, upgraded from 1.13, and I also get the same issue. Try activating latch mode on yours and play around in it for 5-10 minutes, and you’ll experience the lock up. I LOVE my Taurus, but this is a big annoyance for me, since I use latch mode 80% of the time. I hope it can get sorted out in a future patch.

That was weird - I couldn’t even see your post and thought the other post was a new one (I now see it’s actually from Feb), so I was answering that one!

Anyway I will try and repeat the issue. I still think there are some bugs in the T3. I also saw this:

I am using version 2.0.2 and it seems that the LFO misbehaves when it receives MIDI clock. If you select either square or triangle waveforms, the LFO doesn’t work, and when you select either ramp or saw, it works as a square wave

Can anyone reproduce this behaviour? The LFO works fine when it doesn’t receive MIDI…

Which also needs checking.

I still have the note latch problem. Is it resolved yet?

Hy everyone , yes I have the same latch issue with mine …
