I’m considering sending in my Stage II Phatty for the 3.1 upgrade and CV mod. Can I choose to have black sides installed along with this? I emailed Moog support, but haven’t heard back yet.
Yes, I believe you can.
I realy like the way the black sides look so I hope so. I guess I just need to get in touch with moog before I send it in…
I had mine done back in September. At that time I was told that in order to get the Black end caps I had to go for the sonic tune up. So I went for that and also internal input cv trimpot. Cost me a bit of change but it’s only money.

Forgive my ignorance, but what does the internal trim pot do? Some sort of an adjustment device?
It is used to scale the pitch CV in to the standard 1V/Oct. The phatties run at .97. Not a big deal for 3 octaves or so. At 5 octaves many people notice the tuning does not track perfectly.
My response is kind of late, but thank you Sir Nose.Is the .97 voltage an oversight,or the result of cutting costs, maybe?
It is by design. Cost cutting: they did not include the internal trimpot on the stages and slim (both the cost of not including the component and having a tech scale it before it goes out the door was saved). The tributes have a couple more internal trims including on on the CV pitch in. The cost cutting is why I could afford my LP in the 1st place.
I’m in the same boat, as far as cost is concerned, and it sure doesn’t have any bearing on the noise I make.Just curious.
Thanks again!
