Bedfellow for the Voyager

Apologies if this isn’t strictly Voyager, but having just seen it’s perfect partner yesterday, I just wanted to share.

If anyone is around Manchester UK in the near future, try and get to Johnny Roadhouse Music on Oxford Road for a treat.

They have got a vgc VCS3 Putney with matching Cricklewood keyboard in at the moment, and it is absolutely gorgeous. The wood is almost perfect, and bar a few minor cosmetics it’s the best I’ve ever seen (OK, I’ve only seen and touched four, but one of them was in a museum). It’s also stickered Music Control FX, so it’s had a decent service in the last few years.

Anyway, sorry again it’s not strictly Voyager, but it just brought out all the same emotions that Voyagers do - including before they even make a noise. AND, when I got home I swear I appreciated my Voyager more.

One last thing, without rekindling the “overpriced” thread at all, they had already turned down a hard £3000 for the Putney, and although they want to keep it for a while because of the punters it’s drawing in, they reckon £3500 to £4000 will be the deal.

Now I didn’t have £4k spare, but even at that price it’s still gorgeous.

And that’s three Voyagers worth, confirming the stunning value of our new Moogs in my mind at least!

vcs3 is awesome. I paid 4k$ for mine, and it is mint. No way it’s worth 4kpounds though.

Wow, the vcs3 is definitely on my dream list. But if it came down to it, I’d rather have a polyphonic Voyager (Voyager+RME+RME).
