Arturia products....

It might seem like a stupid question, but is it possible to get some kind of cheap keyboard to plug into one’s pc? The reason I ask is because my friend likes their Minimoog V product and is planning on purchasing it. I would (probably will) purchase an actual Minimoog, but some people cannot afford that option. What is a decent low priced keyboard to control it?

I see these around for decent money.

Not sure if they’re in the UK.

My friend has one of these Oxygen 8’s… he likes it…

plus you get some handy knobs to tool around with… give it a more realistic hardware feel…apparently…

I second the suggest for an Oxygen-8 keyboard. The 8 continuous controller knobs can be easily mapped to filters, envelopes, lfos, etc. It is excellent for both live performance and studio. May be a bit steep at $140 (usd) but well worth it.

Boeing 737-400, don’t you already have a Voyager? Why would you purchase a classic Minimoog too? I currently own a Voyager and have owned 2 classic minis in the past. The Voyager covers all the ground of the classic minis as far as I’m concerned. I know this will probably open up a debate (I don’t want to get into that). However, I think having both is a bit redundant. I feel it’s better to spend $1500-$2000 on a synth like the Arp 2600 or something that has a different flavor since you’ve already got a Moog and Pro-one(if I’m not mistaken). If you are a collector/musician and want to have it all then disregard my post

I think both options are a bit too expensive, they’re not for me anyway, but I would like one! I presume I can control it with my Voyager, but that’s a bit too big to have on my desk! The Studiologic TMK-37 would be ideal.

I would like an original Minimoog because its a piece of history, and they do sound fatter than my Voyager. I’ve got a Prophet-5 lined up at the moment. I have been considering getting an ARP Odyssey, or 2600 for a while! I’m not definitely sure if I will get the Model D, if I had the money, I definitely would!

You can’t go wrong with these. RLs got a fine collection and I recently purchased the Odyssey Mk3 he had. Cost me a good chunk because of the exchange rate between US > UKP. If I had the cash I’d probably order another Voyager too

You’ve got a nice machine there. Thats the problem with the Exchange rates, I could probably get a synth from america pretty cheap, but the delivery price is gonna be huge! At one point i did want the Anniversary Voyager, but what’s the point of having an identical synth with an extra knob? I want a Minimoog - Model D!

I have yet to play a Voyager, but I cut my teeth in the early 70’s on the MiniMoog, dreams of being the next Wakeman/Emerson and all. There are so many great (now vintage) instruments that many of us old timers dumped for new and better. I am also looking to get my old setup back which included ARP,B3, Mellotron and MiniMoog - although from the prices I have seen as of late I may have to consider getting a mtge.
I have been told that the sampled cd’s sound close, but again I have not heard any of them either.
