Anyone know if a Voyager will fit on one of those Apex stands by Ultimate support, or is the Moog too deep?
The latest generation Apex offers 18" support arms.
But the entire setup is crazy expensive.
I’ve got mine on the stock-length square-tube version.
It’s plenty stable. The support arms come out about 2/3 of the front-to-back dimension.
I HAD an Apex stand. I never could get comfortable with it. If I sat it was in the way of my feet and when I stood I kept kicking the brace legs and trunk. I just searched eBay until I could get enough A-frames. (It was sturdier than the thing looks like it should be.)
I use a custom A-frame too.
I use an old Apex and it fits. Can’t fully raise the panel though cause then it is kind off-balanced and might topple over ![]()
You need to find an Invisible stand. That is the best stand I’ve EVER had! I think they are quite rare though. Geddy Lee uses one.
Was the Invisible Stand the one made of a handfull of square tube parts that slipped together and a couple of turnbuckles in the back to hold it tight? I had a 2 tier one like that in the 80’s and it was as sturdy a stand as I’ve ever seen. They were a great stand but bulky to transport even broken down. (Came with a sack to hold it all, though.)
check out the Spider Pro from K&M.
Don’t get the regular model… make sure it’s a pro.
They’re cool looking, functional, well made, and lick the problem of no room for pedals as found on the Apex.
it works . on the 13 inch tribars with added stability, I put a plank of wood below it for added stability. it sits pretty stable with the plank. I got the plank from IKEA kitchen section
. I wouldnt use the apex stand on the voyager without the plank, even the 18 inch tribars wont help , the dimensions of the voyager are such. But a plank of wood is all u need to have a uber stable setup.
here is a picture:

I fixed the Apex. Chopped 5" off the top so the Moog sits back.
Works great! I also have an old awesome early 80 s stand, but it is a pig to break down.
