Anyone else interested in Opus 3?

I bought (‘won’) one on eBay a few weeks back. I was the only bidder, picked it up for $599 and despite the inaccurate description and my having to put some hrs in cleaning it and getting it working again, I have to say I’m quite happy with what I spent and what I got.

If you haven’t see/played one, you’re missing out. On one hand, it’s a bit of an old(er) school electronic keyboard, not a strict OSC and filter based analog synth but on the other hand it’s FULLY Polyphonic, not 8, no not 16, no not 32… But before you dismiss it as a simple and weak fold-down keyboard; Moog being Moog, they threw in some goodies like a lowpass filter, a modulation section with ‘delay’ on startup, a BBD based stereo chorus, a Low/Band/High pass filter on the String section, an old school Moog pitch wheel, and enough general controls to quickly dial up a tonal palette which certainly cannot be accomplished with other Moog gear.

But it’s not for everyone. Have a listen to this YouTube; http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=STA5B6ySl8A this chap does a really good job at moving through 25 minutes of what I consider prog whoop-ass. If hey kicked up the tempo a knotch, added a drummer, bass player and a cape, he’d be in business.

I wouldn’t bother too many of you with this except to point out that there is an absolute mint looking Opus 3 on eBay right now and the seller is right, you won’t find a better ‘example’ of one. For the record, I have no interest or relationship with whoever this seller is, just wanted to pass along the lead in case somebody was interested in getting one, this IS the one: http://www.ebay.com/itm/Moog-Opus-3-string-organ-and-brass-famous-Moog-envelope-filter-/130576629313?pt=Keyboards_MIDI&hash=item1e66f93e41#ht_5178wt_1341

My bandmate years ago played one- I played a Prodigy and guitar and he filled in all of the spaces with his Opus- Great poly synth! Enjoy!
