Hi,
I have a LP 1st edition. I’m having a problem of tuning, when I trigger a simple note (sin Wave - osc1 or osc 2), the pitch of the note is having some irregular “shot”, it’s geting higher (a few coma) for 1 seconde than goes down and continue doing this till I release the key.
I’ve read a few topics of tuning problems with the Little Phatty already, but it’s not exactly the same problem. The interval is not really big, so I continue using it on my gigs, but I can’t get a soft regular sound anymore.
I’ve tried the calibration, I’ve tried a Factory Reset… Do you think it’s a physical problem or it’s a bug in the software?
Thanks for your help!
Gabriel
Is your pitchbend wheel loose? Sound like it could be the LHC, which is the second most common thing on the phatty to fail under regular use (only 2nd to the push encoder).
Can you get a steady tone with pitchbend all the way up or down?
Thanks Sir Nose! I think this is it… when I hold it, it seems to be ok (there’s a small milimeter of looseness) Thanks for this… I don’t have a good english… what is the LHC? and the push encoder?
Do you think it’s fixable?
Thanks again
The LHC is the left hand controller (contains the wheels and sensors). When Moog fixes this problem at the factory they simply replace the entire assembly. The replacement part is priced fairly, the shipping both ways is what I found to be costly. If you are outside the USA, contact moog to find the nearest qualified tech.
The push encoder is the knob by the digital display. It turns and pushes like a button. The dual functionality puts a lot of stress on the shaft; so, it often fails. When I had my LP stage into the factory I had it reinforced after being replaced. Solid as a rock now.
