Announcing Phatsound: Home of the Little Phatty

PHATSOUND: HOME OF THE LITTLE PHATTY.

Introducing a new web site catering to all Moog Little Phatty owners. It’s called Phatsound, and it’s designed to help you get the most out of your Little Phatty by providing space to exchange patches, organize and share information, and post links.

Phatsound is a Yahoo Groups web site, and it’s organized similar to the SquareWave site for Voyager owners. In fact, if you’re already a member of SquareWave, you’ll know what to expect on Phatsound. Like the SquareWave site, Phatsound will be tailored to meet the needs and interests of Little Phatty owners.

BUT THE LITTLE PHATTY ISN’T AVAILABLE YET

True, Moog won’t be shipping units for a while, so the information on Phatsound is a bit light right now. But once folks get their hands on the Little Phatty, that will change very quickly.

In the coming months, Phatsound will include helpful, downloadable information to assist LP owners with sound programming and sound development techniques, troubleshooting help, and provide answers to frequently asked questions. Anything that adds to the LP experience will also be posted. And of course, everyone will be encouraged to upload and share their patches.

SO WHAT’S AVAILABLE ON PHATSOUND RIGHT NOW?

There are a few exclusive photos, a few links and the six original LP sound files (in MP3 format) from the Moog web site (Moog Music has already replaced these with new ones). As more information become available, it will be added.

NO COMPETITION

Phatsound is not intended to compete with the Moog Music Forums. Instead, its purpose is to compliment the forums by providing capabilities currently not available, namely patch uploads and information consolidation. We expect that all discussion will stay here, with Phatsound adding a few of the missing pieces.

OKAY, SO WHERE IS IT?

You’ll find it here:

http://launch.groups.yahoo.com/group/phatsound/

Since Phatsound is a Yahoo Groups web site, you’ll need to click on the ‘Join this Group’ button to register (sorry, their policy, not ours). Fill out the required information and you’re in! Read the ‘Welcome’ message first to familiarize yourself, then have a look around. Check out the resources, and tell us how to make it a better site. (Note: if you’re not registered with Yahoo you will need to get an account. Go to Yahoo.com and register. Then go to Phatsound and click on ‘Join this Group’.)

So stay here for the discussion, but go to Phatsound for the all the resources to make your LP online experience complete.

It’s time to get phat!!
