An iron-curtain analogue synth demo.

Hi!

Last week I bought a Russian analogue sizer; a Polivoks. I bought it from a very kind guy from Estonia who even delivered it to me in Sweden by ferry. It is in really good condition.
People say that the Polivoks is a Russian Minimoog clone but it is really not. It doesn’t have that bottom end, warm filter and snappy envelops that the Model D has. I would say it is more like an ARP Odyssey, it is even duo-phonic.
Anyway it’s a great sounding sizer that can make strange noises as well as nice synthpop sounds.
I decided to make a song using only the Polivoks. So here is a little demo song made entirely on the Polivoks alone. It is not as tight since you can’t control the sizer via CV/Gate. Everything has to be played live and I’m not the best keyboard player. Even the drums are Polyvox sampled and played by Battery.

I’m not the best programmer of strange noise/effect sounds so my Poli sounds like a Czech animated movie. For those of you who can program effect sounds this sizer is really great.

I really love this sizer.

Kind regards

Excellent. I love it!

Great tune! I think people should post more music here.

Also, I like the way you say “sizer” and I like the fact that when I imported it into iTunes the genre was “Blues”…

Not too shabby at all. It reminds me of Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love” married to Afrika Bambatta’s “Planet Rock.”

You’re not as bad as you think, Demokid. I hear a lot of potential. Now, all you need to do is figure out how to play the ebony keys.

Hi!

Thanx, I will try to find the ebony keys next time. I usually sound like this:

It’s a song I made when I played in a band that broke up 2002. :frowning: Now I’m on my own but I’m composing new materials.

Kind regards

Great work. This is what I consider to be “true” electronic music…when every sound you hear is generated from the synthesizer.

awesome. keep posting songs!

I wouldnt call this ‘music’ really, but here’s an old ‘work’ i created on my moog mg-1… (recorded LIVE takes through my laptops internal mic… couldnt find a cable adaptor… haha).

Dunno why, but I like Moog Mess! It reminds me of Neutral Milk Hotel, don’t ask :frowning:

I’ll second that neutral mikl hotel reference, very ‘On Avery Island’ Good Stuff if you are into that sort of thing (which obviously I am)
