All made in Asheville?

Are all Voyagers and their internal parts fully assembled in Asheville? Also where is the wood supplied from, is that genuine US ash wood? I noticed the ATA case is made in China for instance.

I’ll pitch in with what I know.

All of the assembly, final test, prep and ship is done out of Asheville with QC/QA along the way. I’ve seen it first hand at the older Asheville plant on the river and at the new location. Certainly, boards are not fabricated in Asheville, but sourced from vendors who do this as their primary business, many of which are U.S. based. I’ve seen boards within my Voyager which say Made in U.S.A. but have also seen parts in Phatty that are not.

I would wager a guess that depending on the product, that >90% is U.S. made. (based on value or importance of component).

A particular injection moulded case (as you mentioned) may certainly be made elsewhere but I can tell you that I’ve personally spoken to the vendor that makes the Taurus cases (local to me) and he is based in the U.S.

Here’s something from the older factory that you may or may not have seen: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=iMqt9EIqz4k and here is a product specific ‘start to finish’ Taurus video on TaurusBass.com [I think you’ll need an account to see it]: http://www.taurusbass.com/bullpen

Thank you. Reading through the Moog website I also found a reassuring statement about the wood being supplied primarily from Tennessee.
