Should there be an Ignore button?
- Yes.
- No, it could be overused
- How about a moderator to handle complaints?
Say I.
Should there be an Ignore button?
Say I.
I vote for a real moderator.
The ignore button still shows the fact that the troll posted and messes with continuity of the forum.
a mod sounds good.
Nominees?
A real mod would be OK, and so would an ignore button. As long as we don’t forget that neither can substitute for careful self-policing by individuals.
Of course. However, the problem is someone who has it in for me. This person seemingly has no regard for other’s feelings, and cannot or will not police himself.
…i guess a moderator would help… I would miss your postings and enthusiam, voltor, so don’t go anywhere!
Actually, I find the general atmosphere here to be rather positive and helpful. I really look forward to checking it out each night.
Thanks for the encouragement. I really appreciate it! ![]()
If I could, I’d cast a vote for both a couple of moderators and an ignore button.
And a swear filter with the words “Chuck” and “Norris” as the only two words to be filtered. ![]()
+mod
We could always turn Chuck into mother and Norris into theresa. ![]()
Kinda like B.ritney S.pears. ![]()
+1 for moderator. Spam is getting outta hand
Same for me, though I don’t get here near as often!
And don’t you even think about leaving here, Voltor! ![]()
People are already silent out of politeness, moodiness or to keep from being seen as taking sides or offensive, or at time that their dumb or not.
Taken for granted, a limited perspective might have a more homogenous effect then you want, or someone. (look how little was said on having a price on aftertouch mod, were complimented no less).
The questions in the poll only gave choices that assumed a problem needs to be dealt with in the first place. Uh-oh, that was meant in fun, right? If given in sincerity, maybe people wouldn’t go for it.
…what?
I dare all of you to sign up for the Hammond organ group. Post anything and they will flame you mercilessly with posts that all begin “You sir, are an imbecile! Everyone knows the answer to your question, which is too mundane to warrant a reply.”
I sign on about once a year to see if they’re still threatening to drive 3000 miles to murder one another over some arcane nuance in patchbay terminology. (I am not making this up) They all smoke bakelite I guess.
This place is an oasis of love in comparison.
BTW, I would volunteer to moderate, but I’m also on newsgroups with psycho dentists, so I’m probably not at the acme of decorum…
my post is just a reminder of people keeping up, and enjoying the read, and better for people not being exposed to the drudgery of repetitious onslaughts. and the rare, at time poorly articulated phrase to counter another post.
If comments reach a time of being so unpopular or out of touch, on a person by person basis, maybe so, just not to suit me. Notice the etiquette over editing or name changes, for which there are many reasons. Yet, people sometimes subscribe to the worst possible motive.
I’ve haven’t noticed a real need, because like many novices, it’s quickly noticeable whether the tone is encouraging or different brand of contribution.
I still have many a patch configuration that I’d rather put my mind to, then wonder if ostracized. Hopefully this edit will sit in back of previous subjects brought up since.
