He everyone! This is like my second post here, but I didnt introduced myself before. My name is Andrés and I bought a used EBV a few months ago. It is my first Moog synth and Im really happy with it, except 1 thing that IM already trying to fix.
Anyways, it came with version 2.5.
I noticed there is a much newer version which handles much more preset location but its necessary to buy the memory thing.
I tried searching the forum before asking but I didnt find the answer.
My question is, if I upgrade to the last OS, do I need to get the memory card aswell? Or can I install it without having that? If the first thing is true, then which OS could I install?
Depending on that, what type of advantages does installing a newer OS cound bring me? Or where can I find that info? Also, my EBV is serial number EB0067, shall I take that into consideration when deciding which OS can I upgrade to?
My next question concerns recieving presets.
I downloaded several sound banks or individual presets in sysex format.
I have MIDI OX.
I dont know if Im skipping something, but Im not able to load them.
In the manual it says that to recieve a bank you need to go to MASTER, then RECIEVE PRESETS and then when it says SysEx enabled that I could start tranmission, which I do in MIDI OX. In MIDIOX I can see the status green bar moving but nothing seems to happen on the EBV. When I check on different preset locations, no new preset seems to be loaded.
What am I doing wrong? Or is there a way to load a single preset, cause Im not able to find that on the manual.
Well, sorry for acting as an annoying noob and asking so many questions at once!
I found forums to be a great tool and once Im in the poistion to do so, I will also help and participate.
Thanks!!
Andrés
