A Preset Question

I have a question about preset G60 Electro. What is causing the pitch decrease? Mod1 is modulating the filter with a square wave, Mod2 is modulating the filter with OSC 3. However when you hit a key the pitch decrease and the pitch is clearly modulate by the filter envelop…however I cannot figure out how the Filter Env is routed to pitch. Thanks.

I think in this patch, the filter is the predominant sound source as the oscs pretty much drone when a key is held. I found that Osc 3 plays a major role in the modulation if you tweak the waveshape youll hear it. I believe the lowering of pitch is in the filter’s self oscillation modulated by the decay rate.

I checked the pot mapping and the programmable sources and destinations.

In a patch that I made before, when the filter env modulates the pitch, for some reason the pitch of the filter will sweep the entire range even though the env has max values for attack decay etc. The ascension seemed to take forever and seemed to continuoualy rise.

Heres that preset:

Okay,

Mod 1 is modulating the cutoff
Osc 3 is also modulating the cutoff
The Filter Envelope is also modulating the cutoff

With the resonance high, the filter is self oscillating.

THe decay is controlling the pitch, BUT the kicker is that the Amount to Filter knob being in the positive keeps the action of the decay envelope signal normal.

If you reverse the action of the Amt to Filt knob then the decay causes a rise in pitch.

I found this by eliminating most of the Oscs tones and reducing the modulation amounts to zero to hear only the filter’s pitch and then tweaked everything until I found the source.

Hope I got this right.
