Based on posts on other threads, I’m trying to compile any information about reports that Moog Music is in the process of producing a new delay pedal with CV inputs and outputs.
What sources does anyone have for this information?
Has anyone heard when such an item might be available?
Yes…however, Bob was not completely against digital technology. He probably would have liked to see his company make a DD that was like no other. A Moog DD with analog emulation, or something like that. There’s no telling what was being planned EIGHT YEARS AGO, when Bob was still around.
Are you describing modeling? God I hope not. That would totally cheapen the brand. Everyone is doing modeling. Moog is a leader in analog technology not a follower in digital technology. I have no doubt that there will be digital components in the future, but they will more likely be controlling to analog hardware.
Eight years ago, analog modelling was being done even more poorly than now. I am certain that Bob would have wanted to build something that out performed any of the DD’s on the market at that time. Of course, I could be wrong, and perhaps he would have wanted to do a digital/analog hybrid, were the analog circuits would provide the sound and digital circuits would be used to increase the delay time…but who knows?
Indeed. Of course, there’s also the old Bomb Factory MoogerFooger software to take into account, as well. Moog hasn’t rejected digital products, they just aren’t known for their digital products. I think a DD or hybrid delay from Moog would be an interesting thing. Is a VC digital delay possible? THAT would be different.
Yeah it’s a retailer a retailer in Canada that I never heard of and there is no picture but a fellow Wiggler posted that there was something within the Sweetwater (print) ‘catalog’ about a new Delay with Midi from Moog.
That combined with the link I found above suggests we may be in store for a new Fogger right about the time that many of you completed the perfect suitcase, rack or (in my case) pedalboard. Remember, “Slim” was first spotted at a retailer such as this.
Ok, that’s cool. Another delay, this time with MIDI! Does this mean the MIDI will be delayed? Or will the MIDI delay the delay? Or perhaps the delayed MIDI will delay the delaying of the delay? Oh, and the release date will surely be delayed. Then bug fixes will cause more delaying.
Surely it will. But bug fixes, (which seem to be a part of the Moog experience lately), will certainly play a factor in the delaying of the MIDI delay, which may or may not delay in being delayed. Hopefully, when all’s said and done, it will delay.
Don’t be so sure of that. ClusterFlux shipped and has been problem free (for me). They had one patch release which mostly changed the curve of drive.
I was an early adopter of MidiMuRF also and it was pretty solid.
I think there is a big difference between somethign which is more black box (e.g. it’s built to essentially provide a function based on x # of nobs and y # of jacks) and a synth (albeit module or keyboard based) which has software associated with it and many many requests for enhancements.
I hope I’m right but unless this new Fooger bakes bread, I’m going to stick with my Diamond ML II which I like very much.
