30+ mins of MOOG OS demo...

Got my baby not even 2 months ago…This thing is really such a beast…just wanted to show ppl the more aggressive side of the voyager rather than the much spoken about smooth creamy sound…im not a keyboard player…tried to showcase a wide variety of sounds which includes loads of fm chaos..crazy distorted basslines some wierd fx and..pad-ish sounds :smiling_imp:

only used some light reverb..everything else is internally generated :sunglasses:

Hard analog examples man. Good job.

The Voyager makes for some dark noisy fun.

hehe cheers man voyager makes noise fun!..this is my first analog synth and im absolutely hooked..gonna be getting adding a sherman filterbank for further madness soon…
the voyager has changed my perception of sound and noise!!

Thanks for the great sounds. I am an experimental musican although I must admit that primary reason I want a Voyager is for much of its softer side but I also wanted to know if its capable of, well, exactly what you show in your demo that it is capable of, some more esoteric sounds.

yeh i initially thought id get it for the simpler for common analog sounds and basses..but really its so much more that im always discovering new quirky things!!

just yesterday i discovered that with the resonance turned up all the way and in dual lowpass mode i essentially i have two sinewave oscillators to play with!! I can then use my other oscilators to modulate both the filters creating some crazy crystalline/glassy sounds! Something i totally did not expect from this instrument!! hook up the modweel to control the main pitch cv and ure in fm fx heaven!! Apply some feedback distortion to that and well…u can imagine :smiling_imp:

I only wish there was a way to bypass the oscilattors from the filter section without having to manually route it elsewhere…

Sounds like you need to make a demo video of that

If i want the voyager to sound just a little bit dirty, I usually modulate the filter resonance with osc3 (at a high frequency) a little.

If I want her to sound really bitchin dirty, I tune OSC2 to approximately the same frequency and sound as OSC1, turn on SYNC and modulate OSC2 Frequency with the filter envelope. To get all those high frequencies, open up the filter, set “amount to filter” and resonance to zero.

Sometimes I whish I had an additional envelope generator and an additional modulation bus. Maybe I need a modular system…

yeh using oscillators to modulate the filter is great for harsher sounds…its something i never use to do when i was in the softsynth world…now i cant get enough of it…

When i run out of mod busses i use the cv expander to send modulation signals where i need to…i wish the voyager had seperate cv ins and outs for each oscillator..that would be absolutely mental..but yeh its been only 2 months since i got the voyager and im already seeing the possibilities i could have with a modular hehe…gonna be pickin up the new oberheim sem…which has enough cv ins and outs that should make it integrate nicely with the voyager while adding to its sound without breaking the bank like a modular system would hehe…

That being said some of the effect modules from the modcan b series sure are tempting though…
