2 questions about the OS

My manual eludes me.

On the old OS you used to be able to turn the Ext Audio Level pot control over preset cycling on and off. There was also an option to use the curser buttons to cycle through the presets but not activate them until you pressed enter. I can’t for the life of me find out where they are in OS 3.4

Also can someone explain what the Multi Triggering does. I turned it on and didn’t notice a change. Whats the source/destination?

THanks in advance.

EricK

Hi Erick,
you can turn the ext audio pot or hit the -1/+1 buttons without preset changes until you hit ENTER when you select YES in the Quick Mode on MASTER menu page 1.1.
Multi Trigger means when a key is already pressed and you press more keys each new key will start the ADSR again with a trigger.
Hope it’s clear enaugh (I need a second mug of coffee…)
Have fun,
Rudi

EricK,

Take a look at the OS3.4 Addendum document. It includes two reference pages that list all of the PANEL, EDIT and MASTER menu functions. This information was included to assist users to quickly locate a given function in the new OS.

Rudi is correct about using Quick Mode to change presets w/wo hitting ENTER. (of course he is, he wrote the Voyager OS!). But ‘Quick Mode’ doesn’t appear in the MASTER menu - it’s in the PANEL menu on page 1.1 (Rudi - you needed that second cup of coffee! )

THanks Guys.

Oh and by the way, Rudi, I really like that old boot menu. I think Ill stick with that!

Last night I just decided that I would dive into the menu functions and see what goodness I could summon.

Thanks Again!

Eric

Oh, yes, you’re right!
BTW, there are changes in the 3.5 MASTER menu - I have to send you a beta soon to check it out.
Have fun,
Rudi

So you are the same guy that did the Midi Retrofit of the Original Model D Moogs?

Nice partnership you got going on there!

Id be really curious to know how far you can go with additions to the OS..like can you keep adding different routing indefinately or at some point is there going to have to be another type of memory upgrade?

Ive heard of some synths LFO’s modulating themselves and I was wondering if if this was possible and if there would be a way to have the AMOUNT knob on the modulation busses become a destination for voltages? (Im thinking that Mod Bus 2 could generate a width modulation of the wave that Bus 1 is sending to whatever destination. Or that the filter or volume envelope could modulate the amount of modulation.)

Eric

Rudi, 'O Father of the Firmware! Great to hear from you! I’ll follow-up with you off-line about the beta.

Cheers!

Hi Greg,
did you get my email with the link?
Rudi

Rudi,
I know you got a lot going on…please consider my idea in the post above and let it simmer in the back of your mind.

I think having the ability to put a variable voltage to the MOD Amount knob would make for some extreme expression.

Just didn’t want you to miss my post above.

Respectfully,
Eric

Hi Eric,
I’m not a modular freak - maybe this idea could work:
route in the pot mapping the mod 1 or 2 pot to the mod amount 2 or 1 and connect the LFO output of the VX351 to the mod 1 or 2 jack.
Hey were are modular freaks?
Have fun,
Rudi

See, you know I kind of figured there might be a way to do that. I figured that If I went and made a sugestion someone woudl be like “Hey you can already do that.”

I totally didn’t think of doing it externally.

Hindsight D’oh.

Next time, Ill wait until I have something I know can’t be done before I pester you.

THanks for your work on the Voyager! Its really pretty deep as it is. Not a whle lot more you haven’t already thought of.

Respectfully,
Eric

Okay,

Heres what Im trying to do.

Im trying to be on a preset on bank E persay, and then switch to a custom preset in realtime by hitting the enter key.

It seems that when I hit the cursor button to switch banks, it automaticalls loads whatever preset is next, if its 1 preset and 1 bank higher or lower..whatever the arrow key takes me to.
Is this supposed to happen?

I did change the quick mode setting to change preset upoon hitting enter.

Eric
